SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities say a 24-year-old Layton man was found drunk and bloody in a state capitol building in the wee hours of the morning.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said a janitor found Jesse Docauer about 4:30 a.m. Friday in the sixth floor lobby of the State Office Building in Salt Lake City.

“It was apparent that Mr. Docauer was extremely intoxicated and had also been involved in an altercation hours before. Mr. Docauer was treated and released by medical personnel at the scene,” a UHP report said. “ During the investigation it was learned that Mr. Docauer had attended the University of Utah Football game the night before.

Royce says there were no signs of forced entry. Docauer was unaware how he got in the building, but video surveillance indicates that a door was left ajar after an employee entered the building, allowing Docauer to gain entry. Officials say he is not a state employee.

There was no damage to any state property inside the State Office Building. Docauer was released to his father with charges pending.
