Coalville woman wins the 2017 Miss Rodeo Ogden crown

OGDEN — A Coalville woman was crowned Miss Rodeo Ogden Saturday evening. 

McKaylie Richins, 19, will serve as the official ambassador of the 2017 Ogden Pioneer Days celebration, according to a post on the Ogden Pioneer Days Facebook page

Richins competed against three other Northern Utah women in a daylong pageant. The contestants were judged on appearance, horsemanship, photogenic and public speaking.

Shianne Low, 23, of West Haven is the first-runner up and won the personality award. 

Carly Peercy, 23, of South Jordan is the second-runner up, and third-runner up is Taylor Preece, 18, of Plain City, who also won the congeniality award.

The winner and her attendants will make appearances at all Ogden Pioneer Days events, which will run July 19-24. They also will represent Ogden at the Miss Rodeo Utah pageant, held each year in conjunction with Ogden Pioneer Days.
