The dog days of summer are just around the corner and that means lazy days at the pool, paddle boarding at the lake or just relaxing on the deck with a good book.
But first, you might feel like you need to drop some of that extra weight you put on during the winter or get rid of the dry, damaged skin that comes with the harsh, cold air. Do you feel like your weight has fluctuated as much as the weather these past few months? “The body composition tells us how much body fat, water and lean tissue they have. It also tells us how many calories they burn per day,” owner Debbie Williams said.
The patient comes in weekly for a weigh-in and visit with the doctor. The doctor can look over the patient’s lab work to see if there is a medication that they need or if there is a medication that they are taking that is making them put on weight.
“It’s a good program,” Williams said. “Weight loss is 80 percent what you eat and 20 percent exercise, so we do encourage people to exercise.”
Williams also explains that spring is the season to start eating those fresh fruits and vegetables and to be prepared when attending picnics and barbecues. The grilling is good, but overdoing it on sauces and dressings is not. Too many picnics will make you pile on the pounds.
Getting rid of damaged and dry winter skin
Cleanse: Cleaning your face every single day, morning and night, using high-quality products is important to healthy-looking skin.

Moisturize: Using a good moisturizer on your face will have long-lasting effects.
“It’s worth spending the money on good facial products,” she said. “It’s worth the investment.”
Protect: It doesn’t take much for the sun to destroy your skin. Sunscreen is very, very important. You can’t put it on first thing in the morning and be done. You need to continue to apply it throughout the day because it only lasts a few hours.
