SALT LAKE CITY — A winter weather advisory effective through 11 a.m. Sunday warns that snowfall will cause hazardous driving conditions throughout Northern Utah, according to the National Weather Service of Salt Lake City.

Snow accumulation of 2-4 inches is expected along the Northern Wasatch Front and in Wasatch Mountain valleys, including the cities of Ogden, Bountiful and Huntsville — with localized amounts up to 8 inches in the Ogden Valley.

In the Ogden area, the NWS forecast predicts that the heaviest snowfall will occur between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Friday's snow means more crashes on Northern Utah roads

Utah's snowpack still far from normal, but late February storms help

“A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving,” the advisory said.

Though the advisory is effective only through Sunday morning, the NWS forecast calls for intermittent snowfall through Tuesday — with Monday bringing the highest accumulation of 1-3 inches.
