HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Three years since his miracle catch in the Super Bowl, former Giants wide receiver David Tyree has been transforming his fame into success as a spiritual role model.
Tyree, 31, who lives with his wife and five children in Wayne, spent the week leading up to last Sunday's Super Bowl assisting with a program for children in Dallas that shares a faith-based message about making positive choices. As part of the program, professional athletes visited schools to share their message with thousands of students. The events culminated with performances by Christian artists.
The activities were run through the Xperience Outreach Foundation, which visits the sites of major sporting events to offer an alternative experience.
