SALT LAKE CITY - Sen. Stuart Reid, R-Ogden, wept openly on the floor of the Senate Thursday morning as he helped pass a resolution noting the atrocities to Native Americans, calling it the most significant legislation he has run during his time in the Legislature.

SALT LAKE CITY - State lawmakers want to create tax incentives for people to buy electric cars, and assess bigger fees on the vehicles at the same time.A pair of clean air initiatives passed legislative committee review this week, giving a mixed signal on the future of electric cars in Utah, according to several clean air advocates.

Utility Surcharge Would Help Fund Clean Air Programs

SALT LAKE CITY -- A Davis County lawmaker wants the public to have the chance to donate financially to efforts to clean up the air along the Wasatch Front.Sen. Stuart Adams, R-Layton, has opened a bill file that will give customers the chance to donate $1-per household on their utility bills.

SALT LAKE CITY - A bill expanding preschool options for at-risk children, using money from private investors, has cleared a key hurdle.Members of the House voted 49-24 on Tuesday to send legislation setting up a new preschool program to the Senate for further consideration.
