You can really die of a 'broken heart,' especially women

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- People can die of a condition known as "broken heart syndrome," which researchers in Little Rock have found to be much more common in women than men.

In the first large-scale study of it, researchers found women suffer from broken heart syndrome 7.5 times more often than men, according to Dr. Abhishek Deshmukh, a cardiology fellow at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences who led the study, which was presented at the American Heart Association conference in Orlando last year.

New 'vampire fillers' use own blood for facelifts

Vampires are spreading, but not to worry. You get your blood back -- at least part of it. Actually, we're talking about cosmetic treatments called "vampire fillers" or "vampire lifts" that use a patient's own blood for skin rejuvenation.

Blood is drawn from your arm, spun in a centrifuge to separate out the platelets, and then injected into your face where it works like a temporary filler but also, more important, stimulates new collagen growth. It may also be used to enhance other treatments such as laser resurfacing or fat transfer surgery.

Before parenthood, couples head to 'babymoons'

Lauren Turner had never heard of a "babymoon." But she did notice a "pregnancy package" offered several weeks ago by Bonne Terre Country Inn in Nesbit, Miss.

Nick and Lauren Turner decided on a name for their child during their babymoon.

"I just had to get away from the house," she said," and I knew I couldn't travel far" because she was two months from her due date. She and her husband, Nick, booked it and found it a smart decision.

Babymoons have been a travel trend for several years, according to Frommer's, the vacation guide publisher, even though the term is unfamiliar to many. It is generally defined as a last chance for parents-to-be to relax, rejuvenate and reconnect before life is overrun with diaper bags and sippy cups. A babymoon can also be taken after the baby is born as a time to bond with the infant.
