Teachers lack trust in superintendent appointee

(UnEDITED) As a resident and parent of two children in the Ogden School District (one at Wasatch Elementary and one at Mount Ogden Junior High), I'm very concerned about the appointment of a non-educator to the post of Superintendent. I believe that Ogden needs someone who is an expert in educational administration to resolve issues that have plagued our district for the last few years. Moreover, I believe that the board needs to be more pro-active in its dealings with the teachers in our district.

Non-discrimination ordinances needed in Ogden

(UNEDITED)Taylorsville City just became the 7th city in Utah to adopt non-discrimination ordinances that protect LGBT residents in housing and employment. In April, Ogden City was presented with similar draft ordinances and has yet to adopt them. It's time for the Mayor and City Council to protect the rights of Ogden's lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and transgendered citizens.

Critical Conversations: Diverse Voices Explore the Humanities in the 21st Century

This fall, the English Department at Weber State University begins sponsoring a series of roundtables or conversations in which faculty from across campus discuss issues pertinent to the humanities.
