Google $11.5 million to fight slavery

SAN FRANCISCO — Tech giant Google announced Wednesday it is donating $11.5 million to several coalitions fighting to end the modern-day slavery of some 27 million people around the world.

Family of quarry shooter expresses condolences

CUPERTINO, Calif. — The family of the man who shot and killed three colleagues at a Silicon Valley cement plant and wounded six others said Saturday they are shocked and have no explanation for why the shooting happened.

Police shoot, kill suspected quarry shooter

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- The man suspected of opening fire at a Northern California limestone quarry, killing three co-workers and injuring six has been shot by authorities in a Silicon Valley neighborhood.
