(UNEDITED)Hooper City had a wonderful July 4th weekend celebration starting with a 7 AM flag raising ceremony with bugle, the singing of the national anthem, releasing of doves and guest speakers. Gubernatorial candidate, Peter Corroon inspired us to be active citizens and Paul Bowden, a 28 year military veteran and Hooper resident spoke on the benefits of being an American and motivated us to honor our freedoms and our country. The annual parade followed and then there was breakfast at the park.
After the parade the Hooper Freedom Military Memorial Team took over with vendors, food, games, and fun. That evening there was a demolition derby held in the Hooper Arena, more great food and refreshments, and then one of the best fireworks shows to be found.
