Darts defeat Kearns in state 5-A boys hoops opener

OGDEN -- One thing about a successful basketball program is you can say you've done it before.

As the state 5-A tournament dawns at Weber State University's Dee Events Center, the Darts again made their annual pilgrimage into postseason play.

Davis has been a high seed and lost and on Monday afternoon went in as a three seed from Region 1 against a number 2 seed Kearns from Region 2.

Playing a more solid game than they have recently, the Darts rolled into Wednesday's matchup against top-ranked Lone Peak with a 56-43 victory over Kearns in the opening round.
