New non-denominational Cub Scout pack to be formed

CLINTON — Boys ages 7 to 10 are invited to join community-sponsored Cub Scout Pack 1910 in the cities of West Point, Sunset and Clinton. A meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Clinton City Fire Station, 2153 N. 1500 West.

The new pack is non-denominational and open to members of all faiths and backgrounds.

5 students receive $1,000 scholarships from Tanner Clinic

LAYTON — Tanner Clinic has awarded five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors pursuing a career in health care.

The recipients are Lynette Randall, of Clearfield High; Kaitlyn Brough, of Davis High; Xavier Stilson, of Layton High; Dallas Clark, of Northridge High; and Taylour Crawford, of Syracuse High.

KAYSVILLE -- "Those Were the Days" is the theme for the fifth annual Senior Gala Dinner-Dance.

Scramble for Easter eggs on Saturday in Syracuse

SYRACUSE — An Easter egg scramble is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday for children 11 and younger at the northeast corner of Founder’s Park at 1700 S. 200 West.

Children can have their picture taken with the Easter bunny. Accommodations for special needs children will be available.

Davis schools screen social studies textbooks

FARMINGTON — Davis School District has announced the adoption of new textbooks for secondary social studies courses.

These courses include Utah studies, U.S. history, geography, world history, U.S. government, sociology and psychology.

Several major textbook companies have submitted materials that are being reviewed by committees of district teachers, administrators and parents.

Young women offered Davis pageant orientation

KAYSVILLE — “We Can Change the World!” is the 2012 theme for the upcoming Miss Davis County and Miss Davis County Outstanding Teen Pageants, to be held June 6-7 for females between the ages of 13-24.

Director Steffani Neilson invites the young women of Davis County to “come learn the skills that will make you successful on stage and in life.”

An orientation meeting for potential candidates will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kaysville Fire Station, 175 S. Main St.
