Courage needed to change with the world

It takes a lot of courage to go against a church or an agency and to fight for the rights of another who is going through a difficult time because those in power abuse their power. Some of our best and most endearing novels come from those who are willing to come forth and change the thinking of those who are in power. I've seen a lot of missed opportunities from those who are in the lead positon to stand up to those who abuse another person's rights without thinking.

Some immigrants don't want to 'Americanize'

Before the outbreak of World War I, my ancestors left Europe at a time when their country was immersed in uncertainty and turmoil. The borders kept changing and their country hardly existed. When they came to this country, they left everything behind, including their customs, language and even religion because they wanted to become Americans. Becoming "Americanized" was a really big deal after World War I and World War II.

Wars start when one group bullies another

The Heavenly Father I know loves all of his children equally. He doesn't love one group of people more than the other, regardless of race, color of skin, religious preferences or gender. To say that he loves one person more than another is not only wrong, but shows where true evil lies. Wars are started when one group forces another group to act like it, think like it and look like it. The correct word for this is "bullying."

Shingles not mentioned during hospital visit

On July 20 I went into the ER feeling overly stressed-out with chest and back pain. The ER gladly took me in. While waiting for the doctor on duty, the nurse took a lot of blood for testing and put me on oxygen. The doctor came in and looked at me and the red rash that I had on my leg and gave me a prescription for pain and sent me home.

While at home I took a better look at the rash on my leg and I realized that I had a reoccurrence of shingles. Not once did the doctor say anything about it.

Greed, insensitivity create economic deterioration

Greed, selfishness and insensitivity of others needs is the direct cause of economic deterioration. A persons' constant need to talk about, or show how much they have is more about their own inadequacies than those of others.
