OGDEN — Habitat for Humanity of Weber and Davis Counties will dedicate a new home at 3457 Jefferson Ave., Ogden, at noon today.

This house will be a huge improvement for the family of Roger Hinds and his wife, Victoria, and their children Montana, 6, and Cooper, 5.

The family has spent the last three years living in a concrete-wall utility room in a basement with a furnace and leaky water heater.

OGDEN -- The Weber County Attorney's Office has filed a motion in 2nd District Juvenile Court to certify 16-year-old Joshua Kyler Hoggan as an adult for what officials say was his role in plotting to set off a bomb at Roy High School.

Hoggan and another Roy High student, Dallin Morgan, 18, were arrested Jan. 25 after police and school authorities uncovered what they say was a plot to set off a bomb during a school assembly, steal an airplane and fly out of the country.

Hoggan would normally be tried in juvenile court, which is less public and only has jurisdiction until he turns 18.

OGDEN -- At least one victim of the housing crisis is bouncing back by opening The Paris Cafe, a romantically named but unfinished-looking hole-in-the-wall that Ernie McKown hopes will be Ogden's latest non-alcoholic night spot.

It all started, he said, because it got too depressing painting homes from which people had been evicted. It was also depressing that the pay wasn't very good.

"We'd been in construction. I owned my own business," he said as he sat at a scuffed table in his cafe, located at 329 24th St.
