Tina Maze wins slalom, takes over discipline lead from Shiffrin

OFTERSCHWANG, Germany — Overall champion Tina Maze of Slovenia beat Mikaela Shiffrin in a World Cup slalom Sunday to overtake the American teenager in the discipline standings and close in on becoming the first woman to win five crystal globes in a season.

Maze also got a piece of another record in a season where she has already broken several, equaling Austrian great Hermann Maier’s mark of 22 World Cup podiums in 1999-2000. The Slovenian earlier broke Maier’s record for points in a season, and she extended her total to 2,254 with her 10th win.

Haye vows to expose Klitschko as a 'fraud'

HAMBURG, Germany -- WBA champion David Haye vowed to expose IBF and WBO titleholder Wladimir Klitschko as a "fraud" in their heavyweight unification bout on July 2.

The 30-year-old Haye said the Ukrainian had only fought "little fat puddings who turn up for a pay check" when the pair met at a news conference Monday in Hamburg's 57,000-seat Imtech Arena, where the bout will take place.

"He's a fraud and I'm good at exposing frauds," said the Briton, who has a 25-1 record with 23 knockouts.

McLaren reveals new car for 2011 F1 season

BERLIN -- Former world champions Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button liked what they saw when they got a first look at McLaren's new Formula One car Friday.

The British team revealed the MP4-26 piece by piece as it was assembled in front of fans at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, with Hamilton and Button providing the finishing touches.
