OGDEN -- During the state 4-A baseball playoffs last month, Box Elder's Hunter Balmer dropped a close decision to Spanish Fork phenom Adam Duke in one of those classic pitcher's duels.

Holding Spanish Fork to six hits and a season-low four runs is impressive. But Balmer was up against Spanish Fork's Adam Duke, who took a no-hit bid into the sixth as he led the Dons to a 4-1 victory over the Bees in the opening round of the state 4-A baseball tournament Wednesday afternoon.

PROVO -- Jamie Stokes is slowing down off the track and picking up speed when she is on it.

Two weeks away from the state 4-A meet, the Ogden High senior reaffirmed her status as one of the state's elite distance runners with a victory at the BYU Invitational on Saturday in the 1,600 meters over the runner who beat her in the 3,200 meters on Friday.

WEST VALLEY CITY -- It's a matter of finding a way to win for the Utah Blaze.

After three consecutive losses, Utah concludes April by hosting the Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings tonight at the E Center.
