Editor: As a recreational swimmer, and former Ogden High School Junior ROTC instructor for 20 years, I have been following the comments, for and against, the funding of Ogden and Ben Lomond High School swimming pools with great interest. The comments given by other readers bring the following thoughts to my mind: 1) The Lorin Farr pool is not a good alternative. It stays open only three months out of the year and morning swimming lessons are not that effective 2) The Marshall White pool is small. With the high school swim teams and local swim teams trying to schedule practice time, scheduling would become a nightmare for the administrators 3) The Ogden Athletic Club pool is crowded year-round. Recreational, lap swimmers, and swimming instructions would probably suffer for team swimming.
