George Zimmerman

If his head is bloody, charges shouldn't have been filed

The chant during the OJ trial was, "if the glove don't fit then vote to acquit." In the Trayvon Martin killing the legal system should focus on the wounds of George Zimmerman. Now that the bloody photographs of the back of George Zimmerman's head has been released, we must ask, why was he charged with second-degree murder?

These photos are clear evidence George Zimmerman was acting in self-defense, and according to Florida law, Zimmerman had a right to protect himself that tragic night.

Is Fox News in the tank for Romney?

According to the RealClearPolitics website, Newt Gingrich recently told a Tea Party meeting in Delaware, "I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through. In our experience, Callista and I both believe CNN is less biased than Fox this year. We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of Fox, and we're more likely to get distortion out of Fox. That's just a fact."

Fox News swung back hard and released a statement attacking Gingrich saying, "This is nothing other than Newt auditioning for a windfall of a gig at CNN -- that's the kind of man he is. Not to mention that he's still bitter about the fact that we terminated his contributor contract."

U.S. senator, Rand Paul

TSA violates Constitution while detaining Sen. Rand Paul

We have all been humiliated at the hands of the Transportation Security Administration, but this time the TSA may have to pay a price for stepping over the line.

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul is the latest victim. He told the AP: "he was stopped briefly by security at the Nashville airport when a scanner found an 'anomaly' on his knee."

As a U.S. senator, Rand Paul uses this airport a lot. It is about an hour from his Bowling Green, Ky. home.

Ron Paul's army won't be easily broken

When Sarah Palin, during the post Iowa media spin feast, warned GOP leaders to not "marginalize" the Ron Paul supporters, she was looking ahead to the greatest challenge faced by whoever captures the nomination.

The Republican leaders in D.C. loathe Ron Paul, and they loathe the thousands of mostly young activists he is bringing into the GOP. Like similar waves of activists in the past the insiders' goal is to see their tide of enthusiasm break and dissipate like foam on a beach.

Exciting GOP presidential ideas that the media ignores

Some exciting developments in the Republican presidential race are being ignored by the media. We believe Americans will be excited when they understand the revolutionary nature of these candidate's proposals.

It all started with Herman Cain's 9-9-9 plan. As Newt Gingrich said this week, "Herman should be congratulated for starting an important discussion." And he should.

Occupy Wall Street is a menace, prepare for violence

Prepare for violence. We remember this crowd.

The year was 1999 and the anarchists descended on Seattle to stop a meeting of the World Trade Organization (WTO). We lived there at the time.

Floyd was working as a host at Hot Talk 570 KVI, located in downtown near the "peaceful protests" of the meeting of WTO ministers. Seattle was excited because it was an opportunity to show the new high tech Seattle of the 1990's that replaced the industrial Seattle of the 1970's. The city was on the world's stage.

Early pictures of the protests reminded us of what you see currently camped in Manhattan's Zuccotti Park. And as in the fall of 1999, the media is there to catalogue the strange beliefs of those involved.

Republicans should not be cautious with the president

Corruption inside the Obama administration runs rampant. The list of scandals grows longer by the moment, with a new one popping up at an ever increasing rate. However, the Republican leadership empowers the corruption by refusing to fight. They fear Obama and are resigned to waiting for the buzzer instead of stopping the madness.

This week we learned of three more corpses resulting from Obama's operation Fast and Furious. This is the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms program that encouraged the smuggling of illegal guns to the drug lords and gangs of Mexico. The resulting bloodshed has been ghoulish.

Obama's EPA is killing more jobs than economy can create

Obama says he will get focused on the jobs problem just as soon as he returns from his August vacation in Martha's Vineyard. Like the more famous Hamptons, the Vineyard is a playground of the rich and famous out to find some summer enjoyment on the Atlantic shore. Just before leaving, Obama articulated his number one goal is to grow the economy.

But while Obama is playing jetsetter, back in Washington a crucial regulatory agency, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has been captured by a group of extremists who actually believe the USA would be better off with a smaller economy.

Gang of Six deal is antithesis of reform

The media frenzy over Republican Senators and Barack Obama making nice over the debt ceiling crisis exposes for all Americans to see the extent to which both parties are aligned with Wall Street interests, and against the interests of Main Street and small business. The subject of this latest bipartisan love fest is the Gang of Six plan.

The profound misunderstanding of America's leaders

Gold isn't money? How could America get to this point we asked in astonishment upon hearing the Chairman of the Federal Reserve proclaim, "Gold isn't Money."

No wonder our leaders in Washington misspend our money. They don't even understand what it is.

Romney is what's wrong with the GOP

Reading Al Gore's comments on Mitt Romney we were reminded of all of the reasons we don't trust the man: "Good for Mitt Romney, though we've long passed the point where weak lip-service is enough on the climate crisis. While other Republicans are running from the truth, he is sticking to his guns in the face of the anti-science wing of the Republican Party."

The so-called science of global warming is more media hype and Wall Street attempts to profit on trading carbon credits than it is real science.

Obama economy worse than the 1970s

The worst economic conditions in recent memory were during the Jimmy Carter era of stagflation. Stagflation was a term coined in the 1970s to describe high unemployment with high inflation. Stagflation is back. Translation: America's middle class is getting poorer; a record number of middle class workers are out of work. If you are lucky enough to have a job, your wages aren't going up, but you are facing higher prices for everything.

"Recent data suggests that the current economic recovery is both sluggish and slowing with unemployment stubbornly high," this from a page one story in Investor's Business Daily.

The Obama/ Bernanke partnership has been a bust.

Obama invents a new word: tax expenditures

Obama is a born again deficit cutter. He wants, according to his speech at George Washington University this week, to slim down nation's deficit by a whopping four trillion dollars in the next 12 years. To achieve this miraculous goal he has a top secret weapon. It is called the "tax expenditure."

George Who? What happened to Washington's Birthday?

"The passage of the Uniform Monday Federal Holiday Law in 1968 triggered an avalanche that would bury "the father of our country," along with his guiding virtues and reminders of how and why the U.S. was born.

Washington inspired his contemporaries and countless American s since, motivating others to emulate him. Washington set the gold standard for presidents and private character. "His example was as edifying to all around him as were the effects of that example lasting," wrote John Marshall in Washington's official eulogy. "The purity of his private character gave effulgence to his public virtues."

Gay group tears conservatives apart

The American Conservative Union (ACU) and the granddaddy of all conservative conferences, CPAC, are endangered. Many of the traditional sponsors that supported the conference through thick and thin years have abandoned ship.
