Editor,
I am in my late 70s, but I still remember the Scout motto and oath. Because of the traditions of scouting, sixty-plus years ago my parents trusted my scoutmaster to watch out for me and would allow me to go on special hikes and outings and even go to my scoutmaster’s house for help on a merit badge. The thought that my scoutmaster might molest me or teach me some homosexual philosophy never entered their minds.
