Victim of fatal lion attack had 'dream job' at Cat Haven

 

DUNLAP, Calif. — The Seattle-area intern fatally mauled by a lion at a Central California exotic animal park loved lions and tigers since childhood, “was absolutely fearless” around them and hoped to work at a zoo after her six-month internship, her father said late Wednesday.

Lion kills worker at Calif. wild animal park

DUNLAP, Calif. — A lion killed a worker on Wednesday at a private wild animal park in Central California, authorities said.

Police search an area where a workplace shooting occurred that killed one person and wounded several others at Valley Protein, formally known as Apple Valley Farms Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, in Fresno, Calif. Police say a parolee who worked at the Fresno chicken processing plant opened fire at the business on Tuesday, killing one person and wounding three others, before shooting himself. 3 dead in Calif. workplace shooting

FRESNO, Calif. — A parolee who worked at a California chicken processing plant opened fire at the business on Tuesday, killing two people and wounding two others before taking his own life, authorities said.

Passenger train crash injures 20

HANFORD, Calif. — Two cars and the locomotive of an Amtrak train carrying about 169 passengers derailed Monday after colliding with a big rig truck in California’s Central Valley, authorities said.
