ALLEN PARK, Mich. — Protesters descended on a Lowe’s store in one of the country’s largest Arab-American communities on Saturday, calling for a boycott after the home improvement chain pulled its ads from a reality television show about five Muslim families living in Michigan.

About 100 people gathered outside the store in Allen Park, a Detroit suburb adjacent to the city where “All-American Muslim” is filmed. Lowe’s said this week that the TLC show had become a “lightning rod” for complaints, following an email campaign by a conservative Christian group.

WAYNE, Mich. -- Rescue workers spent all day and into the night combing through the pile of crumpled drywall, twisted metal and broken couches, dining sets and dressers that was once William C. Franks Furniture store in the hope that two buried workers might be found alive, as the store's owner was.

After more than 12 hours of searching, crews on Wednesday night instead recovered the bodies of a salesman and clerical worker who were killed in the natural gas explosion at the store in downtown Wayne, about 15 miles from Detroit.

DETROIT -- When police burst into a home in search of a murder suspect, a reality TV crew documented the raid -- and may have recorded the death of a 7-year-old girl accidentally killed by an officer.
