UPPER UWCHLAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Despite a protection-from-abuse order, a Chester County, Pa., mother of four agreed to meet her estranged husband at her workplace Sunday night so she could give him two letters.

But, authorities said Monday, the exchange was a setup for homicide.

PHILADELPHIA -- A threatened potboiler about a Chester County billionaire is permanently off the burner.

At a hearing Tuesday in federal court in Philadelphia, Agnes "Aggie" O'Brien, 55, pleaded guilty to three counts of extortion against Mary Alice Malone, a Campbell Soup heiress who resides on a 1,000-acre horse-breeding farm in the Coatesville area.

NEW CASTLE, Del. -- A grisly New Year's Eve discovery in Delaware has prompted police to seek the public's assistance in solving the slaying of a prominent retired Army colonel whose career in government service stretched from Vietnam to cyber-defense planning.

The body of John Parsons Wheeler 3rd, who held senior roles in federal and charitable organizations, was found in a landfill a few miles from his home in New Castle, Del., police there said.
