First, I would like to express my gratitude for Col. Olsen (Ret.) for his years of service and sacrifice. Regarding his letter of December 9, "Stevens shouldn't have gone to Benghazi". I agree with the colonel that Stevens had no business being where he was. However, to place blame on the Ambassador is shortsighted and premature.
With the alleged lies and cover up after the "terrorist" attack, I believe we have yet to scratch the surface on what was really behind his presence there and why the lies and cover up. No one knew more of the risk than the ambassador, hence the multiple requests for increased security.
