We should remember everyone's freedoms

Editor,

Concerning the Jan. 19 news article, “Gun owners: Man’s actions hurt us,” I’ll be the first to admit that carrying an AR15 while shopping was foolish, but he was well within his rights to do so.  The right to “keep and bear arms” is in the Constitution, immediately after the right to free speech and expression. Maybe we should require permits and registration to speak, just as some want to require permits and registration to keep and bear arms.
