Cal State Northridge stuns Utah 76-71 at Huntsman Center

SALT LAKE CITY — Landon Drew scored 14 of his career-high 19 points in the second half to help Cal State Northridge rally from 19 points down and stun Utah, 76-71, on Friday night at the Huntsman Center.

Stephan Hicks had 19 points and nine rebounds as the Matadors (8-3) scored 19 points off Utah’s 15 turnovers and held the Utes (7-3) to 22 percent shooting in the second half.

Bench scoring helps Utah rally to beat SMU 62-53

SALT LAKE CITY — Justin Seymour and Brandon Taylor have been watching most of Utah’s games from the end of the bench.

Against SMU, the two freshman guards found themselves playing key roles in Utah’s 62-53 win on Tuesday night at the Huntsman Center.

Majerus honored, Utah defeats Boise State 76-55

SALT LAKE CITY — It was almost as if Rick Majerus was back in the Huntsman Center and Utah was re-living its glory days.

“There was no doubt that Coach was in the building. Our guys played really inspired and as hard as they could on every possession,” said Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak.

Bachynski scores 22, Utah beats Idaho State 57-46 in tourney opener

SALT LAKE CITY — When Dallin Bachynski heard in practice two days ago that he would be starting, he had to catch his breath.

"It was a personal goal of mine to start this year, and now I don’t want to ever give up my spot. From the get-go I was determined to be the energy guy and set the tone," said Bachynski, who posted career highs of 22 points and 16 rebounds and Utah defeated Idaho State 57-46 on Wednesday night.
