Beware the dreaded senioritis!

High school seniors, beware! There's a disease gone viral that is targeting seniors across the nation at this time of year. Rumor has it that it attacks the brain and renders its victims incapable of performing normal school activities such as studying and homework.

Before I started my last year in high school, I imagined that the long-awaited senior year would be a highly rewarding, exciting and memorable culmination of an extraordinary phase in my life. To tune or not to tune ...: Some say music helps when doing homework, others not so much

Homework stinks! After a grueling day at school traumatized by the tsunami of information that has just overflowed the brain, teens are now expected to come home and use all of the information they have just ingested, spit it back out, and continue to do more work at home, rightfully establishing its common title -- "homework."

The one thing that relieves me from the stress of homework is to accompany my tasks with pop or country music. Usually, when I am working on calculus or science while listening to music, I become more relaxed and focused.

Also, homework requires hours of strenuous focus and attention every night, and if I listen to music while I'm working, the time seems to go by much faster. There is nothing like getting swept up in the beat of Flo Rida's "Club Can't Handle Me" or Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" while doing some complex math problems.

High School Football: Heart or Hype?

The football sails into the end zone; the pass is complete. TOUCHDOWN!

The crowd goes wild and triumphant cheers blast through the stadium. The winning team hoists their star quarterback into the air and carries him across the field in victory. That's the football frenzy -- the greatest game in town!
