TREMONTON -- Standards are now in place establishing Tremonton as a child-safe city, and Mayor Roger Fridal has signed a proclamation establishing and promoting child-safe standards within the community.

BRIGHAM CITY -- A traffic study found there are not enough walking students to warrant a crossing guard for Lake View Elementary School near 700 South and 200 West.
BRIGHAM CITY -- Because October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Annette MacFarlane, from the New Hope Crisis Center in Brigham City, is attending city council meetings in the county to thank the councils for financial support of the crisis center and to increase awareness of domestic violence in the county.

BRIGHAM CITY — One month after the city put up stop signs at 200 South and 200 West to accommodate students walking to Lake View Elementary School, the city wants the signs taken down because not enough students are using the intersection to justify a four-way stop.
BRIGHAM CITY -- The city passed an ordinance restricting the manufacture, distribution and possession of any synthetic cannabinoids, more commonly known as spice, inside the city limits.

TREMONTON -- The city council has unanimously approved a letter of support to be sent to the Box Elder County Commission regarding the restriction of the sale and use of spice.
BRIGHAM CITY -- Looking to expand options, providers and a renewable source of electricity, the city council recently approved an agreement to purchase up to 5 megawatts of power from a wind farm in Idaho.
WILLARD -- Farmer Tom Hall, who leases school trust lands north and west of the Willard-Perry wastewater treatment plant, told the city council recently that runoff from construction of the plant has already harmed profits from the land and will continue to harm the land once the plant is operational.
BRIGHAM CITY -- After a task force suggested changes the city needs to make to become a bicycle-friendly community, the city council took the next step this week by creating a bicycle committee to help get funding.
