As a long time public lands access advocate I attended one of Orrin Hatch's delegate events last March to inquire how he would save our lands from the political environmentalists and what he would do to resist future wilderness designations. To the amazement of the crowd, he completely dodged the question.
When Orrin was first elected he was a strong advocate of public land multiple use, just like Mike Leavitt and Jon Huntsman. And just like these fine gentlemen, once elected, he proceeded to let these environmentalists have their way with us. He could have blocked Bennett's terrible Washington County Wilderness but didn't.
