National Trails Day celebration offers activities for all

This year marks the 14th annual National Trails Day Celebration for Weber Pathways. This year Weber Pathways is partnered with Riverdale City for the event.

Trail gems attached to the river parkways

This month we feature two small loops that are reached by the Weber and Ogden River parkways. Both are easy to hike, even when snow-covered.

The Kingfisher Wetlands Loop is a lovely, secluded and partly shaded trail connected to the Weber River Parkway. It features many birds of multiple varieties, wetlands, beautiful vistas and an occasional turtle.

North Fork Park a joy - when it has snow

North Fork Park near Eden offers trails that can be enjoyed in any season but the park really shows off when winter's snows turn it into a mecca for skiers who don't like to wait in lift lines.

With its new Nordic Center/Warming Hut and 30 kilometers of groomed trails for skate skiing, classic cross-country skiing and snowshoe/hiking, North Fork Park has something for all levels of winter enthusiasts.

North Fork was developed as a partnership between Ogden Nordic, Weber Pathways, the U.S. Forest Service and Weber County Parks.

Since 2002, Ogden Nordic has been working diligently to develop this fabulous venue for the citizens and visitors of Weber County.
