Police, protesters clash as tensions mount in Anaheim

ANAHEIM, Calif.-Simmering tensions in the wake of two deadly police shootings in Anaheim exploded into violence Tuesday night as protesters clashed with police outside City Hall even as officials met to discuss the killings that have rocked the Orange County community.

Police seek interview tape in Manson murder

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Police Department detectives want to review some interviews between a Manson Family convicted murderer and his attorney to determine whether it might shed any more light on the infamous case.

NBC-TV in Los Angeles reported Thursday about the request for recordings between Manson Family member Tex Watson and his attorney. The station said police want to know if those recordings could contain unsolved homicides related the Manson family's homicide spree.

Hollywood shooting, fire leaves 2 dead, 3 injured

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- A shooting and fire Thursday afternoon at a house in East Hollywood left two people dead, including the suspected gunman, and three others seriously wounded.

Authorities said the incident was the result of domestic violence. The wounded, two women and a man, all in their 30s, were all shot in the upper torso. They were hospitalized in serious condition, but officials said all three are expected to survive. All were conscious and able to talk, police said.
