Eight hurt when truck plows into high school crowd

HEMET, Calif. - A Hemet High student in a pickup truck plowed into other students in a crowded crosswalk Wednesday afternoon, sending people scrambling for safety and leaving at least eight people injured, according to the school principal.

Streets are closed in downtown Long Beach surrounding the federal building on Ocean Boulevard after an ICE agent shot and injured another agent and was then killed by a third colleague in a federal building in Long Beach according to the FBI. Heather Locklear 'under evaluation' at hospital

LOS ANGELES -- Actress Heather Locklear remained at a hospital in Ventura County northwest of Los Angeles on Friday and is being evaluated by doctors, the hospital said.

LOS ANGELES -- Actress Reese Witherspoon was struck by a car Wednesday morning while jogging in Santa Monica and suffered minor injuries, authorities said.

Suspect in synagogue bombing arrested

LOS ANGELES -- A man believed to be the suspect in the bombing of a Santa Monica, Calif., synagogue has been arrested in Ohio, police said Monday night.

Ron Hirsch, 60, who was wanted in connection with Thursday's bombing at the Chabad House, was apprehended in Cleveland Heights, the Santa Monica Police Department said.

Police consider graffiti about killing Jerry Brown a 'terrorist threat'

LOS ANGELES -- Police in the Orange County city of Santa Ana and California Gov. Jerry Brown's security detail were trying find out Friday who wrote graffiti on two walls threatening to kill the new governor on Valentine's Day.

The graffiti, which threatened the governor and included a Nazi swastika, was discovered Thursday and is considered a "terrorist threat." Authorities are also investigating any links to earlier graffiti in the area threatening to kill Catholics.
