Injunction unfairly targets non-gang members

After reading the TX. article of Oct. 24, "Founding Fathers should be rolling over in their graves," by Bryant Studebaker. Here is a young man who is likely not directly affected by the injunction, yet he is standing up for a people (yes, contrary to biased belief, Ogden Trece Gang members are people) that he does not even know.

Many of these gang members were my colleagues at one time. Many were and are still my friends. I've seen many of them grow up over the years and know firsthand that they are mostly good kids that are going down the wrong path. Many of them are still loving and respectful to me, calling me, "Mom," even after I first began working with the Ogden-Metro Gang Unit in my mission against the gang lifestyle.

Mom of gang member corrects inaccuracies about family

(UNEDITED) I would like to take time to clarify some of the comments made in this article. I appreciate Tim Gurrister for taking the time to do the article and bring awareness of my efforts to light. I do need to rebut some of the things that were not correctly stated in the article. First of all, there were people who did love me in my family. Many of whom I didn't realize or accept love from. I don't want people to believe I blame my family for the wrong choices I made in life. I take full responsibility for my actions.

Gang members portrayed as unfeeling, uncaring animals

(UNEDITED)How dare Tim Gurrister, once again, try and convict one of my sons in articles in the Standard-Examiner! (Tool of gang control). I am extremely upset and frustrated that my son, Riqo Perea has been portrayed as an unfeeling, uncaring animal time and time again. Everyone knows he was not given a fair trial and I blame that partly on Gurrister and his ignorance in convicting my son in his articles, tying Riqo to every murder or gang story he writes.
