Pleasant View city employees now trained to inspect developments

PLEASANT VIEW — An amendment to the fee schedule for development inspections will simplify billing methods, a city official says.

Some city staff are now trained to do the development inspections, said Development Director Bruce Talbot, and the actual cost to the city for the inspections depends on who does it.

“It seems $50 was a fair figure to do as an average. That is what the fee is for, storm water inspections,” Talbot said. “This will simplify our billing process. We won’t get hurt by doing this, and we can now offer a service we haven’t done before. Engineers are typically a higher fee. It will put a few dollars in our pocket by doing the inspection.”
