Baby dropped in field by tornado buried in Indiana

SALEM, Ind. -- A 15-month-old Indiana girl who clung to life for two days after being scooped up by a tornado that killed her parents and two siblings was buried Monday in a snow-covered cemetery, a poignant end to what had seemed to be a miracle story of survival.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Fifteen-month-old Angel Babcock seemed to be the miracle survivor of a deadly tornado that killed her parents and two siblings when she arrived Friday night at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky. Though critically injured when the twister scooped her up and deposited her in a field, Angel was opening her eyes. Hospital workers said that was a hopeful sign.

Missing Ind. girl found dead, babysitter arrested

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The neighbor who was babysitting a 9-year-old Indiana girl when she went missing last week will be formally charged with murder Tuesday, a heartbreaking turn for the girl's relatives who considered him a family friend.

Police await results of autopsies in 5 Ind. deaths

LAUREL, Ind. — Investigators are awaiting the results of autopsies on five people found dead in a rural Indiana neighborhood in hopes that the examinations might yield some clue as to how they were killed and who killed them.

Questions about Indiana stage collapse linger

INDIANAPOLIS — As the Indiana State Fair reopened after a deadly collapse of a concert stage, questions lingered about the structure's safety, why fans weren't evacuated as a storm moved in and whether anything could have been done to prevent the tragedy.

Ind. fair honors five killed in stage collapse

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels told hundreds of people who gathered Monday for a service to remember five people killed when a stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair that the tragedy has broken the hearts of the state's residents.

Daniels said Saturday's stage collapse as high winds raked the fairgrounds was especially tragic because the state fair is "a family reunion of all Hoosiers," where farmers and city residents gather for fun.
