Interested in writing? WSU conference a must attend

No writing is ever wasted. Whether it is your three-sentence journal entry, that note you pass in biology or the next great American novel, everything you write has some meaning and helps you find your voice as a writer.

So glad to be grads

After working for 13 years, graduation is finally here!

Senior year has been both hard and fun. There were required classes to take, fines to pay, tests to take, grades to get, scholarships to apply for and admissions to college to submit. There were lists of things to do every day, and seniors were always busy.

Movie trailers a tantalizing taste of what's to come

The lights dim, the theater quiets, and you're set with a fresh bag of popcorn on your lap.

Perhaps you're ready to brace yourself for the new slasher flick, bawl your eyes out over "P.S. I Love You" or "The Last Song," encapsulate your mind in a brainteaser like "Inception," or just sit down for a two- to three-hour laugh sesh that could pass for an abdominal workout.

HEAD-TO-HEAD:Times of Grace up against Red

Times of Grace and Red have released albums in this new year that left me dumbstruck.

"The Hymn of a Broken Man" from Times of Grace came out Jan. 12 and Red released its highly anticipated third studio album "Until We Have Faces" on Feb. 1.

Two of my friends were bickering over which album they liked better.

Senior survives the transfer to new school

When teens of all grades envision senior year, they don't think of classrooms or homework. They think of being around the friends they've gathered, laughing at inside jokes and just having a blast.

For me, senior year was walking into rooms full of people I didn't know.

Moviemakers murder beloved books

Moviemakers murder beloved books

"Oh, Harry Potter I had no idea you were in the kitchen, (cough, cough) but since you are would you mind zipping up my dress, because I am a bad, bad girl."

"Yeah, Ginny I would love to, because for some reason I suddenly find you very attractive. Plus I owe you for tying my shoelaces."

EPIC FAIL: Some teenagers' New Year's resolutions quickly fall by the wayside

The New Year's Resolution. It can come in many forms: scribbled down on the page of a notebook, published via a Facebook status update, frustratingly vented out to a friend in mid-December, or just a measly declaration that "Next year, I'll ... (fill in the blank)".

I started writing this story the day before its deadline.

As one of my many 2010 New Year's resolutions was to stop procrastinating once and for all, this is an example of one of many "Epic Fails" that teens came across this year regarding their New Year's resolutions.

Suffering from Bieber fever?

Justin Bieber? Many things come to mind when this sensation's name is mentioned, things like "I heard about him on the radio," or "I saw him on SNL and CSI."

Have you ever wondered where he even came from? Justin Bieber was discovered on YouTube and is the hottest singing phenomenon to spring from the site. Today he's a top artist known all over the world, from sold-out concerts to stealing the hearts of young girls.

Bad habits could leave you with fewer friends

With the Internet becoming more accessible, the popularity of the famous social networking site Facebook expands every day -- with both good and bad consequences.

There are more features and capabilities and more people to share these with, but there is also more room for conflict among Facebook users. In order to avoid said conflict, we have compiled a list of what some Top of Utah teens say are the "Do's and Don't's of Facebook."

Thanksgiving the forgotten holiday

Everywhere you look, anywhere you turn, you can basically count on seeing one thing: Christmas. Why is this a problem? Look at your calendar. It is still November.

High School Football: Heart or Hype?

The football sails into the end zone; the pass is complete. TOUCHDOWN!

The crowd goes wild and triumphant cheers blast through the stadium. The winning team hoists their star quarterback into the air and carries him across the field in victory. That's the football frenzy -- the greatest game in town!

Think you know this game?

As high school students, many teenagers love the excitement of the Friday Night Lights and cheering for their beloved football team. Emotions run high as students celebrate touchdowns and mourn incomplete passes.

World of Speed gets teens' hearts racing

Engines roar as people mull around, taking pictures and perhaps pausing in a spot of rare shade. The salt, white and packed hard, sparkles in the sunlight. I see a Corvette, tricked out for racing, and snap a picture.

(JENN GHAN/TX. photographer) Angela Kunz, 17, of Ben Lomond High School, screams at passersby as they enter the Freddy Krueger room of West Haven’s Haunted Hollow.

O'Scares Time!

The nights are dark and deep come October, and teens everywhere are venturing into the Top of Utah's haunted places for the thrills and chills that only Halloween offers.

Today we present our annual TX. O'Scares awards to six fiendishly fun attractions offering the best and worst in ghoulish entertainment.

Are you scared yet? If not, read on.

Real-life FarmVille a lot of fun

Chickens. Pigs. Cows.
