Editor,
The head of the NRA and others have argued that the right to bear arms is necessary for people to defend themselves against the United States government. Are these people in violation of Article 18, Chapter 115 of the United States Code? Section 2385 reads in part, that whoever “advocates, State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence” is subject to fine and/or imprisonment.
