Thomas S. Monson, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints president died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at home with his family. During his time with the LDS Church, Monson served as a counselor in the First Presidency of the Church, was a first counselor to former LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley, as a second counselor to Howard W. Hunter and Ezra Taft Benson, and was sustained to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on Oct. 4, 1964.
