CAC appointments go virtual

The 75th Mission Support Squadron customer service section would like to make your visit for a Common Access Card or a DEERS update pleasant with a limited wait time. The Hill Air Force Base CAC online scheduler is an easy and convenient way for military and civilian employees with access to government computers to schedule an appointment for a CAC, dependent identification card, or DEERS update.

Military members can make appointments for themselves or their family members using their government computer. The CAC online scheduler will reduce waiting and the amount of time spent away from their duty section preventing work stoppage. Civil Service employees will need to utilize the Hill AFB Visitor's Center in order to receive identification cards for their dependents.

The section would like to encourage members to utilize the CAC Scheduler allowing customer service technicians to better serve Team Hill in a quick and timely manner. To schedule, cancel or change appointments, customers can utilize the following Web site: https://hillnet.hill.af.mil/cac/index.asp.

Leave and earning statements

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- In an effort to save money and improve security, the Air Force has stopped mailing hard copies of Leave and Earning Statements, or LESs, to civilian employees.

Access to LESs for Air Force Materiel Command's 56,700 civilians is now restricted to the "myPay" Web site. All civilian employees must register at the Web site.

"The Air Force expects to save millions of dollars as a result," said Roger Richards, the customer service representative in Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command's Financial Management Directorate. "Electronic access also provides a more secure method of viewing LESs."

The Defense Finance and Accounting Service had already restricted active-duty and nonbargaining unit personnel to electronic copies of the LESs as well as W-2 tax statements for several years. Now, after successfully negotiating with employee labor unions, bargaining unit personnel are included.

Free child care for volunteers

If you are a Hill AFB volunteer, you may be eligible for a limited amount of free child care through the Family Child Care Program. For more information, call the Airmen & Family Support Center at 777-4681.

Also, if you are an active duty member, the Family Child Care PCS Program provides 20 hours of free child care per child ages 12 and younger with a Family Child Care Provider within 60 days of PCS'ing in or out. This is available at either the gaining or losing base.

You must contact the Airmen & Family Support Center for vouchers and provide them with a copy of your orders. For more information, call 777-4681.
