Music a part of the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, 'Old Gloryous Program'

The public is invited to assist in reading names from the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, 3 p.m., each day through June 15 at the Newgate Mall.
Today at 6 p.m., the Riverdale City Band will perform. At 7 p.m., the formal opening will be held with a POW/MIA ceremony and a WWII veterans recognition program. At 8 p.m., a country western band "Stampede" will perform.
Friday at 6 p.m., Box Elder Symphonic Choir will kick off the proceedings. 7 p.m., a flag ceremony and speakers, will be followed by the 23rd Army Rock Band playing Vietnam-era music.
Saturday, "String Zing!" quartetfrom Huntsville will start things out at 4:30 p.m. Speakers, followed by the American flag retirement ceremony will proceed at 5:30 p.m. (The public is invited to bring flags to be properly retired. Drop them off at the site before 3 p.m., Saturday.) 6 p.m., Riverdale City Band will be on stage. 7 p.m., Frank Maughan, state commander, Military Order of the Purple Heart will be featured.
Sunday, 3 p.m., "Stampede" will play. 5 p.m., a memorial service, including a Fallen Soldier Ceremony will take place.
All events are in the parking lot west of Sears at the Newgate Mall, 36th Street and Wall Avenue.
The half-scale wall replica, nearly 250 feet long, is open 8 a.m.-10 p.m., today through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday.
The exhibit is part of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1481, efforts for Flag Day and closes at 6 p.m., Sunday.
