Clearfield preschool celebrates 50th anniversary with open house; Hill invite issued
Wednesday, June 18, 2008
"Hundreds of children," from Hill Air Force Base, says Norma Barneck, have attended her preschool in Layton over the course of 50 years it has been open. Her school is celebrating its 50th anniversary today with an open house at 49 W. 300 North in Clearfield, 3 p.m.-7 p.m.
Barneck says she has had the children of children who have attended her school, enrolled there and now she says they have the grandchildren of children who originally attended.
She invites everyone from Hill AFB, who has had a previous connection with the school to drop by.
Founded in 1958, the school has been in continuous operation and has taught thousands. Some of the teachers have been Hill personnel at times.
Memorabilia and pictures of some of those bygone times will be on display.
