Rod Run on Aug. 10
The Hill AFB Arts and Crafts Center announces its 20th annual Rod Run will be held Sunday, Aug. 10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Centennial Park. Pre-registration cost is $20, the day of the event cost will be $25.

* Registration fee includes t-shirt and dash plaque. Awards will be presented in 26 categories. The Rod Run is great fun for family and car enthusiasts. Free admission for spectators.
* Try the Spring Nascar simulator for a realistic hands-on driving experience.
* Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and J.C. Hackett will provide musical entertainment.
2008-09 Kick-Off Breakfast
The experience of belonging to professional organizations will be among the benefits discussed by the Hill Employees Association at its 2008-09 Kick-Off Breakfast, Aug. 20 at 7:30 a.m.
Scott Johnson will be the featured guest.
For a cost of $5, the morning fare will include a breakfast burrito, juice and coffee.

Building 308 exit to close
Both the south entrance and exit of Building 308 will be closed from July 28 through Sept. 30.

ACSC entrance information
Air Command and Staff College provides intermediate level professional military education to 0-4/0-4 selects and civilian GS-12 and NSPS pay band 2 employees. An ACSC organizational meeting will be held Aug. 26, at 3 p.m. at the Education Center, Building 383. Seminars will be established at that meeting and enrollment procedures will be provided.

Air War College meeting
Air War College is the senior level of Air Force professional military education for 0-5, 0-5 selects and civilian GS-14 and NSPS pay band 3 employees. An AWC organizational meeting will be held Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Education Center, Building 383.

Death announcement

Hill Camp-Out
Centennial Park at Hill Air Force Base will be the site for a camp out the evening of Aug. 22. All families must sign up by Aug.15 to edie.messina@hill.af.mil or call 775-2084 and include how many in your family would be participating. A minimum of 25 families must be interested to hold the event.
* Set-up tents from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 22.
* Bring your own tents -- Outdoor Recreation, 777-2225, has a limited number of rentals available
* No trailers
* Bonfire for making s'mores
* Bouncy Castle
* Free hot dogs and chips from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
* 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., ghost stories
* Movie in the park on a big screen with popcorn at 10 p.m.
