Wanted: Rooms for ski season workers

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The housing market in Park City is so tight that seasonal workers for the ski season may not be able to find an affordable place to stay.

Park City, Deer Valley and The Canyons resorts need up to 1,400 workers each winter. But Tim Dahlin of the Christian Center of Park City says that number doubles when seasonal restaurant and lodge employees are added in.

Much of the seasonal housing stock has been converted to nightly rentals for tourists or sold to year-round residents.

Dahlin hopes Park City residents will help by participating in a new program to rent out bedrooms to winter workers, many of who are international.

sounds like a ski resort problem to me ... if people can't live to work in the area ... well the presidents of the ski resorts will have to EARN their money and solve this problem.

Isnt that why we have bus shuttles? And maybe the people of the area could maybe build some housing just for workers that might want to spend a night on the Mountain. We have much more major thing's to worry about.
