Man sought in botched robbery

OGDEN -- Police need help to find a man who entered a pharmacy saying he had a gun and demanded OxyContin.
The Rite Aid pharmacy at 142 Harrisville Road was hit around 2:30 p.m. Oct. 7 when a man believed to be in his early 20s approached the pharmacy technician and said, "Give me all the OxyContin and nobody will get shot."
Police hope a surveillance video posted online and the description of the man, 5 feet, 7 inches tall with short, dark hair and a mustache/goatee, will help individuals come forth with information on the robbery.
According to Major Crimes Detective Tim Scott, while the man spoke with the pharmacist and time passed, the man got nervous and was spooked by something that caused him to run out of the pharmacy and get into a four-door sedan.
The make or model of the vehicle is unknown.
"The man left the store without producing a gun or taking off with any amount of OxyContin," Scott said.
Police say they're not seeing as many OxyContin robberies because pharmacies are being more proactive about not carrying as much OxyContin in the store, but that doesn't stop some people from trying to steal the pills.
