Foundation: Utah air getting cleaner
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah public policy group says the state’s air is getting cleaner. The Utah Foundation says the state is meeting or working to meet national air-quality standards and that it is looking at ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Utah Division of Air Quality Director Cheryl Heying says, however, that Salt Lake, Davis, Utah and Weber counties — home to most of the state’s largest cities— are still having problems meeting newer federal standards on ozone and particulate matter.
She says pollutants also tend to get caught in the state’s valleys and bowls.
In a foundation survey, voters said the environment is their eighth-highest concern.

I agree. I have lived in other cities where public transportation is free on high pollution days. It should be done here.
