Early voting closes today
Hooper teen Misty Bell was at the front of the line of early voters waiting outside the Weber County Library in Roy on the last day of early voting.
The 18-year-old, voting in her first presidential election, was one of roughly 60 voters who showed up in the semi-dark early-morning hours Friday to have their voices heard.
"I just want to avoid the long lines," said an excited Bell, who arrived about 20 minutes prior to the polls opening.
Early voting also meets better with her work schedule.
Early voting in the Top of Utah concludes today at 5 p.m. Those in line prior to the 5 p.m. deadline will be allowed to cast a ballot.
Lines ran through the halls of the Memorial County Courthouse in Farmington as voters from across Davis County waited for up to 20 minutes to cast their ballot.
Davis County election clerks opened up five more voting machines to help move crowds along Friday, placing them in the County Commission chambers.
To renew voters spirits while they waited, Commissioner Louenda Downs walked up and down the voting lines with a pumpkin full of trick-or-treat candy.
