Syracuse residents warned to lock their cars
SYRACUSE -- Police are urging residents to lock their car doors after a string of burglaries in northwestern Davis County.
Syracuse Police Lt. Tracy Jensen said there has been more than a dozen car burglaries in Syracuse, Sunset and Clinton during the past three weeks.
"Most of the time they are just taking money," Jensen said. "But if there is any valuable property, they are taking that too."
Police are unsure whether the crimes are related or what the reason is for the sudden outbreak of car burglaries.
"Usually that kind of thing slows down during the colder months," Jensen said. "I don't if it's the economy and people are desperate or what, but if people will remember to lock their doors it will help."
Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to contact the Syracuse Police Department at 825-1477.

I do not think the comment by maybe was very kind toward policemen. They cannot be expected to make up for people not locking their doors
