Sundance in Ogden to receive one more festival film than announced

By Ken Ritter

"The Messenger" will screen at 3 p.m. Jan. 24, Ogden's final festival day, bringing to 14 the number of Sundance films screening at Peery's Egyptian Theater.

The film was mistakenly left off an earlier list of films the festival provided to the Standard-Examiner.

"The Messenger" tells the story of Will, a serviceman who has been dumped by his stateside girlfriend, and was injured but narrowly escaped death in Iraq.

He is spending the final three months of his tour in the Casualty Notification Office.

Will faces a moral dilemma when he becomes involved with the widow of a fallen officer. Ben Foster, Woody Harrelson, Jena Malone and Samantha Morton star.

Advance ticket sales for the Ogden films will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 3 and 4, at Peery's Egyptian Theater, 2415 Washington Blvd.

Starting no later than 8 a.m. Jan. 3, people waiting in line can get an appointment card to return at a set time later that day or Jan. 4, to purchase tickets.
