You Caption Cal

Every Saturday, we will publish a new Calvin Grondahl cartoon without a caption. Your job is to send us your suggestion for a caption. We'll select three finalists, publish them the next week along with the previous week's cartoon, and you'll vote for the winner. Enter as often as you like, but we must receive all entries and votes by noon on Thursday.

At the end of the three-week cycle for each cartoon, the winner, selected by you, our readers, will be announced in this space and receive Grondahl's signed "original" and an exclusive "I captioned Cal" T-shirt.

Submit your entries and votes via e-mail at cartoons@standard.net, on our Web site (http://www.standard.net/live/opinion/youcaptioncal), via the U.S. mail to 332 Standard Way, P.O. Box 12790, Ogden, Utah 84412-2790, or by fax at (801) 625-4208. Be sure to include your first and last names, street address and a daytime phone number for author verification in case you are selected as a finalist or grand prize winner.
