McBride back to old jokes
Wildcats get toenjoy bye weekas No. 8 team
McBride spent Saturday night in a medical center in Pocatello, Idaho, following the Wildcats' win over Idaho State. The 69-year-old coach joked about how the nurse on duty was a die-hard BYU fan.
"She walked into the room and said, 'Oh, you're that coach from Utah,'" said McBride, who spent 13 seasons as the head coach at Utah. "I said, 'No, I'm the coach at Weber.' "
McBride joked about how she only wanted to talk about the BYU-Utah rivalry, rather than the WSU-ISU rivalry.
"I think she kept sticking me with needles to wake me up on purpose so we could talk football," McBride said.
The Sports Network FCS Top-25 poll was also released on Monday and the Wildcats moved up one spot to No. 8. Weber State (9-2, 7-0 Big Sky) clinched a share of its first Big Sky championship and the first automatic bid given out to this year's playoffs with a 59-27 victory over winless Idaho State.
With two games remaining in the regular season, James Madison retained the top spot in the poll. The first seven spots in the poll remained the same as the previous week.
