NEWS: Charges filed in Ogden hostage situationWednesday, May 14, 2008OGDEN — Felony kidnapping charges were filed Wednesday against four men involved in a house party-turned-standoff. The men were each charged with one count of second-degree felony kidnapping, with a gang enhancement, after police say they forced some partygoers to stay inside the home at 3535 Madison Ave. after officers were called to the home for a noise complaint Saturday night. Charged are: • Joseph Anthony Gomez, 18, Clearfield • Marco Antonio Mendiola, 31, Ogden • James Jerry Moncada Jr., 18, Clearfield • Brent Levi Vigil, 17, Ogden Court records show each of the men has been previously convicted of or charged with at least one other felony crime. Police arrested 17 people in all after the incident, and other people may be charged in the future. Ogden Lt. Loring Draper said some of the cases will require more follow-up investigation by police if charges are filed. << Back to recent news. |
